Thatâs almost exactly what Akira Toriyama did in Dragon Ball.
All the saiyans were named after vegetables (typically root vegetables) e.g.
Kakkarot = Carrot
Vegeta = Vegetable
Tarble = Vegetable
Raditz = Raddish
Paragus = Asparagus
Broly = Broccoli
Even âsaiyanâ (originally âsaiya jinâ) was a reversal of âyasaiâ (meaning vegetable).
Aside from soppa maybe being soup and karistys possibly involving carrots, I couldnât even begin to guess what these mean.
Seems fine to me. Aparently @jonne doesnât agree though. :P
Edit
I decided not to say âI bet one of these contains reindeerâ because I thought that was being too stereotypical, but it turns out one of them does, so I would have been right. :P
Why would this spoil it? Would it make you hungry all the time? Or do you just not like Nakki Keitto?
Edit
Or is it the idea of the pilots being aliens?
1541 and Vic were the only two I wouldnât have guessed.
The company itself is still sometimes called âThe Beebâ even now.
(Aparently Queen used it on an album.)
(I donât know if itâs a local thing, but we also sometimes call them âbuh-buh-cuhâ because of the way children are taught to learn the sounds that letters make.)
Itâs great, Iâm totally loving it. It needs a countdown at the beginning, I always stay behind Also I noticed the player ship sometimes blinks, like itâs not drawn for a single frame or something.
Perhaps in the future the opponents along with their names could be procedurally generated, plus you might use some of these words for their home planets too.
Actually, I was only half-serious with that suggestion , but I think we got really nice names with combined retro themed and file formats names. I am happy I do not have to chase âLiha Pullaâ (a meatball) in the race
