Illustrator can seamlessly adjust fidelity of vectorized lines. Its just a matter of setting max amount of control points and a couple of other things. You can vectorize it to a point that it is indistinguishable from the original.
Furthermore, Illustrator trial is free for 7 days.
But that is not the main thing right now.
@Pharap, I think the circular sketch of @Zockeromi is the style we’re looking for. 1:1 proportions, 100x100mm max, probably even 40x40 in the mag
Also this is precisely why I asked - It would have been really awkward (and incredibly irritating) if I’d started drawing characters similar to the original Famicom example and then it turned out only the heads were going to be used.
Over the last week or so I’ve been doing quite a lot of things,
but I have had chance to work on the promised drawings.
So far I’ve been focusing on drawing @tuxinator2009.
At first I spent quite a bit of time working on 5 drafts,
after which I showed them to @tuxinator2009 and got some feedback.
Then yesterday I drew two final attempts,
one of which @tuxinator2009 has chosen to be his representation for the reviews.
And remember that I’m also happy to draw a representation of a person that doesn’t actually resemble them, like how I often choose to draw myself as a skeleton.
