Illustrator can seamlessly adjust fidelity of vectorized lines. Its just a matter of setting max amount of control points and a couple of other things. You can vectorize it to a point that it is indistinguishable from the original.

Furthermore, Illustrator trial is free for 7 days.

But that is not the main thing right now.

@Pharap, I think the circular sketch of @Zockeromi is the style we’re looking for. 1:1 proportions, 100x100mm max, probably even 40x40 in the mag

Ah, now we’re talking useful things.

Does that also mean the images will be head-only or head and body?
(And if the latter, does that mean I will be expected to leave a gap either side?)

(Note: These were made Sunday - I haven’t had time for drawing today or yesterday,
I just found a moment to scan them.)

When I have an answer to that I’ll be prepared to start drawing (when I have the time).

I like the @Zockeromi sketch. Head in a circle

Excellent. Now I can actually start planning.

Also this is precisely why I asked - It would have been really awkward (and incredibly irritating) if I’d started drawing characters similar to the original Famicom example and then it turned out only the heads were going to be used.

A quick update on the progress.

Over the last week or so I’ve been doing quite a lot of things,
but I have had chance to work on the promised drawings.
So far I’ve been focusing on drawing @tuxinator2009.

At first I spent quite a bit of time working on 5 drafts,
after which I showed them to @tuxinator2009 and got some feedback.
Then yesterday I drew two final attempts,
one of which @tuxinator2009 has chosen to be his representation for the reviews.

Here is the one he chose:

@Pharap I will send you a picture of Tuomo to work on as well

If it’s less hassle I can use a frame from one of the promo videos.
(Though come to think of it I expect those are probably a tad old now.)

I’ll also need one of @RagingR0nin at some point.

And remember that I’m also happy to draw a representation of a person that doesn’t actually resemble them, like how I often choose to draw myself as a skeleton.

I’m sorry. I always thought you were just a skeleton. Didn’t realize it was only a representation :stuck_out_tongue:

We’re all skeletons on the inside. :P
