Have just seen this – apparently someone has come up with something better than floats practically in all aspects. We avoid floats here, but if legit, this would be a revolution.
Maybe software implementations would be faster and smaller too?

I wonder how it’s supposed to implement quiet NaN and signalling NaN if there’s only one NaN value?..
Didn’t even know there were two kinds of NaN, that doesn’t seem like a very good idea to put into numbers themselves.
I only know Naan Bread myself
