So what were the numbers being used before?
Generic NXP board numbers?
Come to think of it, why would the numbers be needed?
For selecting the correct device driver?
Maybe to find related drivers faster, too?
two good questions, the first I would only guess as I haven’t ever even thought of checking, but I would assume perhaps just generic hobby HID numbers. Using properly registered numbers, I would assume would allow OS’s to correctly ID the devices. I here MacOS has trouble with generic devices. Also, it would (legally?) prevent other devices using the same ID’s, preventing driver mix-ups etc.
